Spalting Birch bowl and vases.  Vase necks of Walnut and Wenge
 

The platter shown above and to the left is turned from birch wood.  The lower platter with the ceramic bowl insert is 16 inches in diamter, and the lid is 14 inches with a turned black walnut handle.  The decorative leaves on the lid are burned into the wood with a wood burining tool.  This is intended as a thank-you gift to a wonderful person who has shared a caring heart and endless patience with a member of my family.  Her support is appreciated a great deal!
